Tuesday House Group

Home » Tuesday House Group

We are a friendly and lively group of twelve with an average attendance of eight who meet each Tuesday afternoon in term time from 1.30 p.m. to 3.15 p.m. in the chapel.

Occasionally others join us.

The purpose of the group is to meet in fellowship, to study God's word and to pray to enable us to grow in our faith.

Each year at Advent and Lent we study material produced specifically to cover these events.

We also visit St. Mary's Anglican Convent in Holy Week to be accompanied round the Stations of the Cross by a Sister to lead us in reflection, song and prayer.

It has been our custom for a number of years now to end for the Summer break with a day of study, reflection, prayer and quiet at St. Mary's Convent.

Our studies vary but to give you an idea of what we do, in the past we have studied specific books of the Bible, topics like Who is God?, one of John Wesley's Sermons, The Addresses of the President and Vice President to Conference 2016.

Our Minister Rev. Keith Underhill visits us once each quarter to talk on a subject agreed.

The first Tuesday of each month also includes the Monthly prayer meeting.

Each meeting begins with tea and coffee as people arrive and we discuss situations and people to be included in our prayer time at the end of the meeting.

We open with prayer and get down to our topic for the week and end with a time of prayer.

Currently the group is led by Eileen Rennie at her home.

We can assure anyone interested in coming along of a very warm welcome. Why not try us, this group may well fit your needs.
