The District

The Northampton District is a delightfully diverse area and as the map below shows, covers a large geographical area.

The communities it serves are city centre, suburban, rural and sometimes manage to combine all three in one circuit.

The District supports chaplaincy work to universities, hospitals, prisons, industrial and commercial workplaces.

The District enjoys encouraging the full variety of lay and ordained ministries.

A collaborative style of leadership is encouraged throughout the District and it seeks to enable, support and challenge the local churches and circuits as they respond to the calling of being a Methodist Church or Ecumenical Partnership in their local context. This is done through the work of District Staff and Officers, paid and voluntary, working locally with individuals, churches and circuits.
