WMC: June 2022
In June our Community Cafe restarted the tables with puzzles, books etc which was appreciated by one pre-Covid regular in particular. Each Monday is different with regulars and complete strangers coming through the door. On one Monday we had more men sitting at tables than women, which was very unusual. We were very pleased to see a group from Charlton Centre return to the café too.
The café does not charge for coffee or home-made cakes, but each week we have "piggy banks" for donations to a charity. From April to June we supported Through the Roof (a Christian charity supporting people with disabilities). The amount raised will be around £360.
The cafe is open every Monday from 9 am to 12 noon. This includes the August Bank Holiday Monday. All are welcome.
