Ride and Stride

As September approaches and the weather is cooling down a bit, it is time to think about the annual Ride and Stride for The Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust. This event is a major source of funds to support the Trust's grants to the country's churches, and our church benefitted from such a grant when refurbishing the chapel.

The idea is to visit as many churches as possible on Saturday, 12th September, either by foot, bicycle or horse! At each church you sign in and your visit is recorded on your sponsor form, and at the same time you may be offered refreshment and the use of the loo if necessary.

Clearly to allow this to happen your church needs to be open and ideally someone to welcome you, so if you are free on Saturday 12th September and would be willing to give an hour or two of your time between 10 am and 5 pm, please let Alison Phillips know and she will construct a rota.

However, you may feel more adventurous and wish to get out and about to visit some local churches yourself, (there are 5 in Wantage alone!) in which case, have a word with Clive and he will give you the necessary form to record your visits. Finally, if you are not available to be at church to welcome or feel up to travelling about, it would be great if you would like to sponsor someone for the number of churches they have visited or the time spent church sitting, every little helps.
